A few weeks back I was after advice on circular saw blades before refurbing my tragic staircase.
Well the job is near finished, thanks for advice and its al;l come out tickety boo.
I used a kit of parts in the end so 20mm treads and 12mm risers treads are bloackboard oak with a veneer the risers veneered oak over over MDF.
I had planned on buying oak planks but this was a lot cheaper and dare I say it easier.
All the bits needed cutting to length and depth so still a lot of work
Before a tragic sight
Let alone this step that was held in by the carpet grippers and collapsed when I took the carpet up
This is as they come
Nicely finished and well machined I ordered just enough planning on not messing up
And even had a bit spare
Nervous as I hate measuring things, a pig to fit as the staircase had a twist all along slightly parralelogram rather than square across.
the first section not so hard as straight (ish)
Then onto the winder section, this terrified me as there are angles and stuff like that.
But to my amazement it all went together
Followed by sealant up the sides and along the joints
then four coats of Osmo nonslip floor wax rubbed down by hand with 180 grit between coats.
Nonslip floor wax works and feels just great to the tough
A happy bunny here
next up is the banisters and side infills
Posh Newel Post tops
Thanks all for support at the start
