Id be paying someone else to paint that…looks a neat job!Replaced some ratty old timber balustrades with new. One more job ticked off, many more to go. Refurbing a Victorian terrace that was close to derelict.

Indeed, I'd have kept that.A pity to lose the mahogany hand rail.
Nice job and while not to everyone's taste they are traditional and in style with the age of the property.Replaced some ratty old timber balustrades with new. One more job ticked off, many more to go. Refurbing a Victorian terrace that was close to derelict.
The post is mahogany but the rest was stained/painted softwood. The post was cracked so nothing worth saving. I do try to keep as much of the originality of these houses as possible, doesn't really add money, but increases desirability to some renters. I put a Victorican fireplace in the main bedroom which I bought from a house a few streets away. These look good once everything is decorated.
The kit is simple enough, bought from UK Stair Parts, all in stock, decent standard, would use them again.
I may spray the balustrades rather than brush-paint everything 4 times

Yes, modern good quality bathroom and kitchen, everything else new or painted, gardens tidy, we rarely had issues with tenants.Renters like bright and clean, some like period but I've found location and the house being nice gets the most interest
I don't own any rentals these days but I had a few at one point, found a decent independent agent to get the best tenants
