Stainless Welding

OK, repeat question but need some information. Somewhere here I think I read you can get away with 75/25 for welding stainless but the comment listed the best wire to use and I don't remember. The local hardware place has 308L which is for all sorts of stainless alloys, would that work?

I am doing stainless exhaust pipes and really don't want to cart around tri mix, also if I don't have to......

Miller actually states 75/25 on their MIG Handbook.

That is a lot of CO2, it will blacken the weld and you will have to work to get it off. The handbook does say "Single pass only"; probably because the surface would not be good to weld over.

I used the 308L on a few things. Seems the most common. I did use 8% CO2 though (I can adjust my mix easily.)
