hey folks,
recently upgraded to a nice external wastegate however i need to make a vent pipe or "screamer pipe".
it will be made from stainless tube 1.75" bore and 1.2mm wall i think.
i have bought some .8mm stainless mig wire and some tips as i normally use .6mm mild wire (panel work)
unfortunatly i can only get my hands on c02 to use as sheilding gas.
basically i will only be welding up the joins ans the pipe will be bracketed to the engine so the welds don;t need to be insanely stron however i can imagine they will be subjected to very high tempritures.
can anyone give me some tips?, not welded stainless at all before so don;t really know where to start.
cheers, simon
p.s. it doesn't need to look pretty so i am not overly bothered about spatter as it will be getting cleaned up with a flap wheel.
edit: forgot to say i have a clarke 160en turbo
