Have done this lots of times using mild steel wire.
On e thing I did not think about the first few times is the need to protect the stainless from any spatter around the weld as it contaminates the surface eventually leading to rust spots. two layers of tin foil does the job nicely

Those are not telegraph poles, telegraph poles carry phone wires. Most of the fittings on power lines are galvanised mild steel and they are inspected regularly and replaced as necessary not given a lifespan like 20 years.

Yeah, we make the switches. They are a mix of galved mild steel, stainless, copper and plastic.
The inspection is done from ground level by pulling the locking bar with a pole, pulling the handle to pull the arcing blade from between the interruptor heads and the stainless bar from between the contacts.
If it works and all 3 blades pop at the same time then job done.
They are made with the aim of minimum life span of15 years and are tested twice a year unless there have Ben problems.

So your mixing MS with SS........if so, there is still potential problems with sacrificial corrosion

Ideally, if different materials have to be used, then plastic washers/ spacers to separate the parts would be sensible.
If this assembly is to be mounted anywhere near the sea, mixing m/s and s/s will not give a life of 20 years. More than a few hundred yards inland and nowhere near anything else liable to put chemicals/salts into the air, It'll probably be OK.
