Stainless steel settings

hi, this is my 1st post and just wanted to know a few things before i start welding with stainless steel.

1st of all i normally just used a gasless welder for odd steel jobs etc etc

but now i want to make a stainless steel custom exhaust for my car, and need to know if gas is needed to the stainless wire?

i just bought a sip mig welder 130 turbo, which has gas and gasless.

so what type of gas would i need and what is the best wire to use?

welding stainless? The Difficult one.

Not as hard as some folks make out. But still a lot to get your head around.
Another thread to look at, with a link to another just to make life complicated. But it might avoid triplication of info.

Moby Dick alert . You'll need the right gas for the job as well Ryan. Ordinary Co2 or argon/co2 gives discoloured welds with high carbon content. BOC list their gas as Stainshield for stainless.

Cheers mate, just getting myself around the gas part of welding at the moment, just wasnt fully sure of content mixture.

Any type of stainless wire in particular to use?

And im from s.wales. not whales
