Stainless Steel Cleaner

Currently use a 3M product - looking at something a bit cheaper for the lads to slosh round the place.

Is the Stelite stainless cleaner stuff much good? Used for cleaning finished job prior to packing up.

MIG weld cleaning

Have you tried using electro-cleaning? Its a lot faster than using chemicals, especially on MIG welding. A company called Ensitech has a machine on the market in the UK called a TIG Brush, it works well on MIG welds too. A company called Engineering Utilities in Leeds sells them.

I've only used Antinox (SP). I have used one of the electro-cleaning jobbies, very cool, bit expensive if all and sundry are going to be using it though.



Doh, just reread, sorry can't help. Used alot of disposable cloth cleaner in a pullout the top kind of container. Never looked at the name. sorry. It always left a greasy, dust attracting film on the SS I found

Baby oil is good ...for shining up stainless.

I quite often use SAS spray too (basically wd40 type stuff)
Minimal handling after to save covering it in fingerprints.
It removes watermarks after aciding it off etc.

Fronius do a stainless cleaning hingmy too. I saw one sold on ebay a year or two ago for pennies. Those were the days. I've seen others on there.

Not sure how it works, but it looked like a wee brush on the end of a lead (a wand, as they say), attached to something that looked like an inverter. Some fluid involved too...

Nah, i'm looking for something that gets grubby fab marks and that off stainless. We usually use baby oil or 3m stuff to clean it up but we need gallons of the stuff.
We use antox/scotchbrite/polishing machines to get rid of heat marks/flap disc marks etc.

Acetone no good? Have always used that for getting the grub off.
