Stainless Steel Brushes

I used to buy really nice SS wire bushes from the local weld supplies, but they stopped stocking them about 2yrs ago and after failing to find a replacement I bought 48 from China. And they are crap, it's a good job I didn;t pay much for them. So what do you use, where do you get them from and how much are you paying

I use lots of cheap ones because i cant find any good ones that last a reasonable amout of time, i'm using a large (about 30cm) silverline one at the moment and suprisingly its lasting quite a while!
Cant be scrubbing hard enough i guess

Wow, those are crap. I sympathise though. Nothing is ever wrong with the cheaper ones except the sodding wires keep falling out... Grrr. What a waste!

Yeah, I have some of the same Chinese-junk brushes. Large spacing in bristles, they splay out, don't last. Were dirt cheap though.

Decent ones I have seen cost me near what i paid for a dozen of the cheapies

Green handled Spud brushes are proper, but I notice Toolstop sell a cheaper version by Faithful.

i got one from R-tech.. its not bad but its not good by any stretch, im ashamed to say that the wire brush my dad has had for years is still outlasting any that i buy now!

The Chinese ones were too soft and as Shenion says too sparse, causing them to splay out.

Havent got one but this looks a good un. Bit pricey though it does have a lifetime gaurantee.

try RS components not the cheapest at £9 each but real quality 4row stainless in a nylon holder

Hell will freeze over before I pay more than 2quid for a bloody wire bush of any size. And at the rate I use them, that will be a long long time

Spoken like a true Yorkshireman Stainless ones are always dearer though but if it's just for cleaning aluminium for tig it should last a long time unless you are heavy handed.
