I've got some heavy good quality stainless saucepans from a skip, the non stick has worn out, so I need to remove it all, and get back to a polished finish, any ideas how I can do this ?

I'm wondering if it can be stripped chemically, rather that hours of scrubbing and polishing ?

A knotted wire brush in an angle grinder normally does the trick.

Personally I would avoid the twist knot brush, while it will be highly effective it will leave many scratches which are a pita To polish out.

If the coating is damagaged and lifting try soaking the pan in a caustic solution over night then use wire wool and baking soda. It does work but is slow, advantages are that the inner surface won't need much polishing

Alternatively use a gas blow torch directly on the Teflon, it will reduce it to ash and then just needs to be rubbed out with wire wool and baking soda

Any type f abrasive blasting is also good but will require a great deal of polishing afterwards

Just depends what sort of internal finish you want at the end

Just sprayed one with oven cleaner, well see what happens.

nothing I reakon Teflon is tough stuff
