Stainless exhaust pipe bending

Hello,

Does anyone have experience with stainless 304 pipe bending?

Wife has a rare car and the exhaust is leaking, (toyota yaris t-sport 1.8L)
But parts are not available.

So i want te make it my self
But never bended thin pipe
Diameter is 42,4mm

As far as I'm aware it would need mandrel bending or old school pack with sand and heat

Search "Sanitary bend" in Ebay.

Lots of stainless bends used in food industry. Loads of choice in UK. Europe shouldn't be any different, I expect.

last time we were on the continent, they sold stainless bends joints mufflers etc off the shelf,

Just work out how many bends you need, buy that many 90 degree bends and then you can cut whatever angle you need...

Search stainless exhaust tube or pipe on ebay and it all comes up...

You aren't bending it at home without a fairly serious set up...

Either that, or get good at pie cuts

Loads of weld it yourself stainless exhaust kits on eBay going for good prices. Can't vouch for quality but a friend's ordering one I'll no doubt be fitting in the next few weeks.

I assume you have facility to weld and back purge the stainless pipe?

Yes i do
And did it before on thicker pipe

(was a machine builder a few years)

Wife want's to drive this one for a long time
And for a yaris it isn't slow,
Like a normal one

So wil do it a little better than that

perhaps check out the cost of a new exhaust build in the UK...
I used to have clients from Holland and Germany come to the UK for engine replacement etc.....
worth a look plus a weekend away......
