Hi all,
I have just started my first welding project (a welding cart) and I'm finding a problem.
When testing the feed/voltage settings, I can lay a nice bead on any face of the square tube. However, when I go and do the same on the butt joint, it burns through pretty quickly.
I tried to reduce the wire feed and the voltage, but then I get a very thin and tall bead, that looks awful and barely cover the gap between the two parts. Any suggestions?
Also, the area surroinding the welds gets a brownish colour that is not produced otherwise when the beads look ok
Thank you
