Spray paint compressor.

I was due to get a compressor from Aldi this week but they seem to have put the stock back until next week. Not sure why.

I was wondering if this:

Would be up to spray painting gates?

Also what paint should I buy and would it need to be thinned out.

Yes it will spray gates, using one of the cheap ebay guns will do a decent job, I bought a small detail gun for around a tenner and its spot on, can profile the paint fan to just about the same size as the material and save on overspray.

However they are noisy if anything like my own Aldi one, very very noisy.

I use cellulose paint and thinners and gunwash for cleaning, also available from ebay at not too bad a price.

If I was to get normal hammerite and thin it out would this work?

Yes but Hammerite is the last paint I would use, personally think it is over rated rubbish.

You can use any type of paint if you thin it, water based is not one I am keen on though, always had problems with it drying

Just seen the "airless" electric spray guns....any good? They are a lot cheaper than a compressor.

I went for an oil free compressor for soley shooting powder, bit noisier but no contamination issues as oil filters seem a bit pricey but it's fairly easy and cheap to remove moisture.
