Spray gun and paint advice - first time

I am looking into spraying a pair of technics 1210's MKII's.
Had a quick look online for some advice and came across this forum, sorry if its the wrong one!
I want a proffesional finish on it, otherwise the value of them will plummet and they will look terrible compared to the original black.
Ive looked on ebay and was going to use aerosols, I have tried a practise project on an MDF board with aerosol, and I dont know whether the results I want can be acheived with aerosol (I want to leave a good few hours between coats to sand each layer to a 3000 grit level) and by the looks this cant be acheived with aersols as they have a low tin life once used.

Anyway to try and sum it up briefly im considering buying a spray gun, although I know nothing about them! I cant find any guides online (That I understand anyway!) so any info with this would be appreciated.

Would this gun be appropriate for me? Whats the difference between a spray gun and a mini jet? Also what is required to use one, I know I need something called a filter? How do they maintain air pressure and keep a constant flow?
Any help or advice would be appreciated!

There's a water trap and pot filters in that kit, you do realise you have made no mention of a compressor in your post don't you ? MDF needs sealing before you go anywhere near it with paint or it will soak it up like a sponge. I recommend you do a lot more of your own research before you commit to buying anything. I keep a few aerosols in black, satin and matt and some wheel silver and it is left for months at a time between use and is no problem. After use just turn the can upside down and give a short spray. Mini jet is just a name for a small touch up spot gun for localised repairs.

I did some research last night, should have read through some of the older posts first sorry! Came across the compressor yesterday, to be honest I had no idea what one was at first. I appreciate the advice, obviously its a big step as its all new to me and I dont have anyone to ask for referance, I think im going to research it some more.
Ive looked about and ive found a pretty cheap basic one, its a sealey 50lt 2hp, im pretty sure this can provide constant pressure for a few coats?
What do I need to connect the spray gun to the compressor?

honestly ...find a local bodyshop that will paint them for some beer money , you will spends 100s and struggle to do a half tidy job if youve never it before

The kit has the right regulator with a membrane, with needle sets etc. it certainly appears to be good value.

as long as you dont intend to use a 2k paint your aerosols will be fine for what you need and if you do intend to use a 2k paint system then you should also get an air fed mask as isocyantes are very bad for your health and should not be inhaled not even the slightest amount as the chemical reacts with soft tissue in your airways
