spot welding

my welder has a spot weld setting

has anyone done any spot welding with a mig and if so was it any good

also do you need a special shroud for the mig torch or can you modify an old one ?

As long as you can hold the torch steady, you dont need a special shroud.

You can get special ones, they have a couple of prongs to rest on the workpiece.
