spot weld removal

Hi,

I have some spot weld to remove. Most of them I have done with a spot weld drill bit. Some of the spot weld are hard to get to and on the very edge of two pieces of steel.

If i use the grid until red hot method and the prise the spot weld apart with a screwdriver what kind of grinding disk do i need on the grinder?

Welcome to the forum. I'd go with a normal metal grinding disc. Anything like a flap disc would be too flexible and not as quick for grinding the metal away local to the spot weld.

You can normally tell then you've just gone through the first sheet - when the red hot bit gets a hole in it.
