Speedshield V

Ive the speedshield V helmet for about 3 years and all has been well but its stopped darkening and I contacted the suppliers. They say the light filter cartridge is non replaceable so I need to buy a new helmet .
Any suggestions so that I could buy a rechargeable unit with the unit or battery in it can be replaced.

isnt this just a matter of opening up the 'non serviceable' cartridge and replacing the cell?

ive no idea. is it easy to do

ive read it somewhere,seen pics.cant be too hard.
open it up and have a look,nothing to lose

a friends stopped working after a few months,was told batteries not replaceable also but they gave him a replacement free
