Hi all im'e having a problem with my mask ( speedglas 9000) when you strike the arc it goes dark but after a few seconds it cleares ,Then when you switch it off and then on again it stays dark if you arc up it cleares then goes dark then just flickers light and dark the batteries are about 3 months old and its been used for about 12 hours it total ?,,anybody got any idears or can you get them serviced?,,,,,,john

Hi John!
Maybe a stupid question but what kind of lighting do you have in your workshop? (some neons CAN trigger the mask, so can the orange warning lights on a forklift, just a few examples!
)
Then, last but not least;.....did you give it a good clean?? under the lenses, all the sensors etc?
Let me know how you get on....
ps: forgot to ask, which speedglas filter are we talking about? there have to be more specs on it, a letter or somewhat?

Hi ,, I took the insert out and cleaned it both sides as best as i can it is a 9000 F type and the lighting in the workshop is just fluresent tube lights ,, the mask worked at the start of the year but started playing up so brought a cheep one to see me through any more idears,,,john

Rrrright, 9000 F battery operated only, no solar cells fixed filter shade...
If you cleaned the sensors, looky here:
normally it has to work with clean sensors....did you put a new shield in it?
