Speed tec 200c

Yeay or nay

Think I've decided on the 200c to replace an old clark, this could be my last welder purchase which won't be constrained by budget

I don't want Chinese although some parts no doubt will originate from china.

Will mostly be car related and light fab work, the 180 would probably do but prefer the extended menu of the 200

Thoughts.

I was going to suggest EWM in Morpeth if your budget isnt limited, but they would want both kidneys and the liver!

I've had one for several years and been happy with it. It came with a tig torch but haven't used that but mig and arc are excellent. Menu is easy to follow and I tend to use the synergic settings as they are.

I've got a ifl Tig so thats not an issue, it's unlikely to be used for much other than mig.

Twas their tig I almost bought when I bought mine years ago, went for a test, touch and feel…its nice gear. Everytime I pass there I think its pricey.

Any new modern inverter mig will feel years ahead of your clarke

I think our toaster has more tec than the Clark, my main problem is it's been borrowed and is so far un returned and I keep having little things that need to be joined...it's just a way of rationalising the purchase

The kemppi 190 auto ticks all the boxes I need, the tourch although fixed has been improved apparently and once warranty is up there is a kit to fit std removable.

I've made an enquiry local to see if they can better or match the internet price.

You can pay extra and get a normal torch adapter, so your not stuck there torches and consumables.

I can live with std till warranty is up, it's going to be a damn sight more compact than my old clark which also had a fixed tourch.
