Can't you just get a 24V solenoid? I think they are 24V.
You will find some on EBAY or you could look in the FLOWTECH catalog, mine[the flotech catalog] came from my local hydraulic shop and they can get everything in the catalog the next day, if they don't already have it.
I haven't had the cover of my plasma for five or six years, I think it was just a generic solenoid and I am fairly sure the control voltage from the transformer was 24V; doesn't the old solenoid have any markings?

I broke mine by dropping something on it that smashed the adjusting knob off.
I just use it on full pressure now. Incidentally, consumables are no longer available for that machine. ;-( I have been told I will need to change to a new style torch to get spares easily.

I was talking about the solenoid not the regulator, which was it you needed?
If it was the solenoid it will be normaly closed and whatever fittings are convenient or were in use[probably 1/4bsp]. The voltage you can check with a multimeter, i.e connect a meter to the wires and press the torch button, it should turn the solenoid on. The manual is HERE there appear to be two two solenoids and it looks like the pcb has 18v and 24V on it..
Mine came with a ****ed torch, it's why it was so cheap, I found someone who claimed to be able to supply the consumables. I put detailed photo's of the torch online and asked everyone flogging bit's if they could supply parts, but the parts were so expensive I replaced the torch with a Trafimet A90[?],
I would have gone for a smaller torch but it was another ebay bargain;-) You can use any torch that works the same, you will possibly need another adapter that torch screws to to inside the machine[I made one].
