A'noon all
as per title I'm a newbie to the forum based near Bridgend in South Wales.
Called Richie by almost everyone apart from my Mum
Am a self taught mechanic HGV driver of the ripe old age of 45 who's done a bit of gas and a bit of mig the best part of 20 years back.
Recently bought myself a Clarke pro 90 and auto headshield to get back into the swing of things with a big co2 bottle that I used to use for my beer making. Sadly 15 bar didn't last long so a 10 litre sgs argon mix bottle is now in my possession as of this afternoon.
The reason for all this expense is my stepsons Triumph Spitfire which he bought 6 years ago in nice nick which I did all the mechanics on, however, he then parked it up out of doors for 6 years and did nothing too it at all (this is where i tore out the few strands of hair i have left).
The mechanics are now all sorted again but after all this time huddling in its own water vapour both sills, drivers floor pan and drivers a post are very ripe.
Luckily for me a friend of mine is an ex fabricator/welder and is prepared to spend the odd day with me here and there to retrain me and help me with the tricky bits.
Had forgotten how much I found welding almost relaxing/satisfying but my god i am out of practice.
That's about it for now-off to browse the forum
cheers Richie
