Sources for railing materials

What good sources are there for all the mild steel pieces that are used to make up railings & gates...i.e. rod material, handrails, top knobbly bits (do they have a name!?), etc.
An online source would be preferable. Or at least places that have online catalogues.

have a look at http://www.dciron.co.uk/.

Maybe buy the bits and bobs there, and if possible buy the rails and cross members locally in 6m lengths?

The other guys will be along soon to advise but I'd guess around 30 x 10 mm flat and 12mm round. It'd work out a lot cheaper.
