can anyone help please, i have just bought a butters amt 271 compact mig welder and used it for the first time today, every weld i do seems to be very good, strong and as other people have told me sounding like bacon and eggs frying when i'm welding, but the problem is the weld is not very clean, or should i say a bit sooty, currently i'm using a butters 2 stage regulator running on boc argoshield universal at 20psi, am i doing anything wrong?

20 psi? psi is a unit of pressure, shielding gas output is measured in volume, usually around 10 L/min. You sure it's not 20 cubic feet per hour?
If so then it's about right so it may just be your technique. Post some pics of your welds please.
