Back onto the subject of scanning.
I have become quite interested in scanning items into CAD programs to get (especially small complex items) that item into CAD. I have had some success with this and I read about the Photogrametry software https://www.photomodeler.com/ in another thread and I am looking at that right now. My (far better financed than I) friend has recently bought a 3D scanner but it is not some toy, it cost a fortune (I could have bought a car) but he tells me it is very accurate. I would want it to make tea and coffee too for the price.
I believe this is going to be the way forward as people want instant results and they are not going to want to learn Autocad or 3D Fusion or whatever, just scan it in and out one pops the other end sort of workflow.
