id like to know why it listed, cargo shifting, took on water, ballast problem ? they must know by now
Word on the street is that it was possibly caused by a mechanical/electrical failure of the automatic ballast distribution system.id like to know why it listed, cargo shifting, took on water, ballast problem ? they must know by now
I did think of this but wouldn't you think they would have turned it off and simply flooded the opposite side to compensate while repairs were carried outWord on the street is that it was possibly caused by a mechanical/electrical failure of the automatic ballast distribution system.

must have taken their eye off the ball if things got that bad, that quick will be interesting to see what developsPossibly but but "simply" may not have been that simple in the heat of the moment.
The general comments are that the Master and the Pilot did well to keep it "afloat".
It was supposedly deliberately put there by the captain and pilot to stop it going completely over. From initial accounts they probably did the right thing, though I guess this may yet change once the full facts come out in the coming days/weeks.The first report I heard, early yesterday morning, said it hit a sandbar, which would probably negate technical issues, since if it is a difficult navigation a pilot does the hard work and the 'foreigners' take over once out into the open sea.
Ps big ships like this normally lean outwards when making turns.
No can't be------- reports said it was full of luxury cars1400 landies stuck! No surprise there![]()
I was in Portsmouth on the Sunday morning, but waaaaay too hungover to take much notice. By the time I got home it was all over the news!!
