Solenoid voltage anybody?

Hi all.

I'm in the process of changing my fixed torch to a euro one. As part of the conversion I need to fit a solenoid for the gas. Trouble is I don't know what voltage I need. Can anybody suggest a formula or some other way of determining what voltage solenoid I need to get please?

The welding machine is a NuMIG 135 running on single phase 240 volts.

Yes.

Connect it to the output of the main contactor, before the power switches.

You could use a water valve off a scrap washing machine.
