Sofa Covers.

We have a leather suite 3 seater.
I hate the thing but it's mint as it's had a cover on since we had it.

I am.looking to try and get a decent fitted cover for it. I have found generic covers but they are thin stretchy things or one that was nearly as much as the suite.

Any suggestions.

I've seen companies advertising "update your sofa/chairs with our covers", maybe one of those could make you a fitted cover?

The thing with leather is that it takes on the temp in the room. Leather car seats in summer can get too hot.

That's how I feel. I can tolerate the cover we have now but it does trip you up from time to time as its baggy at the front.

It's the first real leather sofa we have had. Others have been faux leather and they are warm.

Buy a couple of large throws from the likes of Dunelm to cover it , tucking material in at the edge of the cushions & the back .
We use a king size soft blanket on our genuine leather sofa bed . My leather Swedish swivel reclining chair has a single blanket over it . My lass prefers to sit on the leather , like you I cannot abide bare leather .

That is the problem with leather. With a nice soft sofa you don't need to do anything.

The place I'm at has a couple of leather sofas - terrible things.
They look smart but are freezing in winter and unpleasant when it gets hot in summer.
There is a throw over them permanently, it only gets taken off if I'm expecting visitors so they look nice...

For contrast, a guest house I often stay at always has the heating on when i visit (rooms are often too warm for my liking), the leather sofas in their lounge feel fine so I guess if you have leather in a room that's always kept warm (not hot) they might be ok. If you do that you will need to feed the leather to stop it drying & cracking.

Its hardly a corpse, its a by product thats been in use for centuries, better than more man made oil based fabrics!

I think I am part Scottish and part Yorkshire as I can't justify buying a new settee when we have only had it 4 years and it's actually mint. (Because it's always had a cover on it.)
We do have a multicolour one in the backroom but it's never used because it's filled with my stuff that I am sorting.
So we are considering swapping them to see if it's that much better.....this would be a massive hassle so I need to be sure before I do that....

How do you feel about sitting on the corpses of a million dust mites? Rights for dust mites! (and crylics)

To ukracer, why do you want to keep the sofa if it's always covered? Is it the right size, right support etc or just that the sunk cost makes you want to make the best of it? For the cost of fitted covers, I'd seriously consider selling it and buying something you want to sit on.

We don't buy new furniture and I abhor covers and throws so I prefer leather because once the faces are cleaned, you at least know it's clean. The market for good condition leather sofas on ebay is always bustling though, assuming it's not an ostentatious fashion styled piece.
