Soda blast media

Has anyone used this media off eBay - item number 360302919418 ?

Soda won't touch it. I get metal frames professionally blasted with some form of grit. Soda is good for cleaning up, especially aluminium but won't touch paint on steel.

Aluminium oxide 80grit is what I use in my cabinet for the smaller stuff with excellent results.

Shame you are not closer Dunny or you could have tried it We used it to strip paint of Alloy it would remove 5\6 layers without damage to surface but we never get it to run consistently.
Have now found a blaster that contracts for fixed price, using soda,
We were using pressure pot, when it ran ok it removed paint no problem but as said to much faffing you need to do a lot to get equipment sorted, others on here seem to get on with it .

Yup, I've used that stuff before. I only use it for smaller parts or engine components. Carbs, pistons, crankcases, that sort of thing. For frames I'd use sand or some heavier grit.

BandQ or Wickes. Get yourself some kiln dried sand.

I'm not just being cheap. I run my sandblasting outside in the garden so I use garden friendly stuff. Plus unless you want to spend forever doing the job, you don't really want to recycle your media. Soda crystals are definitely one shot only and in practise, so is sand.

I recently bought a set of spray guns to do the van but the weather has been just awful...
