Now that the staircase is in I've had a reshuffle of the workshop to an at least semi-permanent layout so I can finally get around to doing some proper wiring. To keep things flexible the plan is to install trunking around the perimeter and then "spur" off this. At a minimum there's going to be a 3-phase supply from the generator, 32A sockets for the higher power stuff and 13A general purpose sockets, additionally there is likely to have Ethernet running around the workshop too (business workshop after all).
The workshop has been converted from an old stable block and we've kept the vast majority of the original features such as the built in "hay-racks". I think galvanised trunking would suit it better rather than PVC but so far my Google Fu is eluding me as to whether it's possible.
For example something like this:
But for galvanised steel trunking.
Here's a piccy of the workshop mid-reshuffle to show why I think galvanised trunking would work best. The original plan was to run trunking just under the ceiling (which will be plasterboarded over) but there's not enough space between the ceiling and the air-vents from the old stable block. So current thinking is run it at bench-top height around the wall and (possibly) have the sockets mounted directly on the trunking.
If that's not possible we'll have to "spur" off the main trunking to the sockets.
