She's incontinent, so it was rather odorous, as well as being ripped and torn.



I thought I'd knock it into several pieces, take it to the tip, job done, but then.....



And there were two of these, two recliners bolted together. And there's two electric ram actuators, that I'd already removed. An hours work and I've taken out the 1/4unc and 6m screws that held most of it together and blagged a few choice pieces of steel to put in my stock pile.





Now she has a new bed. I nearly bought the large, instead of extra large, thinking it would be big enough..

old sofa's herehave hard wood frames......so I take them to bits for that.....
last time I bought hard wood here it was 3 x the price of the UK.........

I probably had about 50 at one point, local hospital was replacing them on loads of beds and chucking them out, how could I resist. I sold a load on here, threw a handful away and still have two big crates of them in the bowels of the shed. Never used a single one of them.

The amount of steel plate I’ve got from work is crazy. Haven’t used it either. Seems a shame to see it binned…

Old lady up the road had a cantilever bed frame left in the Garage when her son in law moved out. So I blagged it.
Best thing I have done made a few thousand pounds using it. The fact the workbench can be altered to suit the operators height is brilliant.
It has been fitted with a piece of MDF that I thought would need changing every few thousand squares. But it just keeps on going and going.

I was just trying to get rid of a bed frame with a lifting top, and the top was assisted by a couple of gas struts powerful enough between them to lift a double mattress, bedding etc. I did have my eye on them for the "they'll be useful someday" pile, but perhaps fortunately someone gave me £40 for it. Similarly for the electric reclining / lifting chair I was getting rid of last year - just when it had been on FB marketplace for a week with little interest and I thought I'd be able to strip it for parts I'll never use, someone turned up and paid asking price.

Neh, hedgehogs have less fleas than dogs in my experience.

Dogs just seem to be a holiday destination for fleas, a permanent holiday.

They're in a box, with the 50 or so screws and bolts, plastic buffers etc.... in the 'maybe one day...' shed.

I saved a load of bits from my late mum's stair lift when I took it apart, the Ali extrusion rail bits I gave to a mate, I've still got a bunch of surprisingly decent nuts and bolts from it and a 24v slow speed eiec motor which I was convinced I'd use but not found anything to do with it as yet.
