Right handed. Paint it with 3in1 or something first. (Not a Doctor)

Yep right hand thread. Normal socket and ratchet should do the trick. Chock the blade with a piece of wood.

Right hand, if you look at the blade it obviously rotates counterclockwise which means that the force on the blade (and hence the bolt) is clockwise. So a right hand thread would try and do itself up while a left would try and undo itself.

Don't forget , spark plug out or at least ht lead off .

Warm it first a bit. there may be a locking glue on it.

yea you can use a block of wood etc but using a nut gun means it’s off in less time than to write this.

same problem on my old honda, didnt manage to undo so now blade it sharpened in situ with angle grinder , really does need a new blade though now if available, must be 30 plus years old

I've always used Briggsbits for mine, no complaints but their site is a bit of a PITA to navigate.

I couldn't get the bolt out of mine either after 20 years of corrosion, had to grind the head off and buy a new one.

Just worn out. Serious misuse over a lot of years.
