smoothing welds on a bike frame

the majority of the welds on my project bike are ugly. All factory welds apart from maybe 3 done by me, but mine are well out of sight.

will smoothing the welds out weaken the frame. I only want to tickle them with a dremmel and a sanding drum until they look better

As long as the root has penetrated fully most of the top of the weld is purely cosmetic. Rounding or smoothing off the ripples shouldn't cause much of a loss of strength as long as you don't remove any of the parent metal.
