Smoothie bike

Wasnt sure which sub forum to put this under so im putting it in here!

Ive just started a job for a customer who builds smoothie bikes (a one wheeled bike that powers a blender when pedalled). His company has taken off and now he cant find the time to make them so thats where i come in. He didnt even have a jig to go off so each one was taking him four days to make.

Today i made the jig using one of the bikes already made by the customer. Its made out of 1" angle, 12mm round bar and tube split down the middle to use as 'cups' for the tube to sit in. Havnt finished it yet and took longer than i thought it would but i suppose it needs to be right as i have to make ten to begin with then more as and when the customer rings me.

This gave me the chance to use my new bench which i built on sunday and it has come in really useful to tack the jig frame to. I will post more pictures as i make progress.

So is it a pedal powered liquidizer?
Must be more dangerous ways of making it.
Looks interesting is it for festivals etc?

Stuvy, The frame you see in the picture is the one the customer made himself. Im making the jig to this spec so i can produce 10 the same, i only started the first one today. Hopefully will get the first one done in two full days but then the rest in a day, or just over tops.

Chunko, Yeah its a pedal powered smoothie maker and the kind of people buying it are youth clubs, smoothie companies, schools and events companies etc...
The customer also sells a bike you ride that also makes smoothies, unicycles, penny farthings and pushbikes with small engines on. He has quite a smart little set up.

Someone should pass a law that all tellies have to be pedal-powered, that way the couch potatoes would have to work for their Corrie, Ice, Talent and Factor.

I wanted to marry the usherettes, they wore basques and were delivering shots out of oil cans.

Heres a few pics of the progress on the bike, not much in the way of welding but more cutting and notching all the components for all ten bikes. I cant imagine how long it would of taken had i not bought the tube notcher. Will get this first one welded up tomorrow. I would of got more done but i have other jobs to fit in around this and have just got a job to build a coffee trike so watch this space.

I also managed to get my hands on a broken pipe bender that i will use to build a ring roller, result!
