Smoking kills... But occasionally it saves lives

I was watching a movie and as always my mother took the remote and switched channel and as always choose to watch a tv show that made my b*#@# fall to the ground and below.
I've took a sigarette went upstairs and instinctively watch towards the road.
I've seen my neighbor lieing on the ground.
I didn't realize was him in first place.
I've ran downstairs opened the door and rescue him.
As always he was drunk (80+ years old ex cop shot in the belly during service) he fall to the ground in front of his door, and it's shirt got caught on a pointed rock on the wall.
He was fainted chocked by his shirt.
I don't know how I've been able to lift him up enough to free up his shirt and save his life.
I'm sure that if I didn't went upstairs to smoke we'd have found his body already cold in the morning while taking rubbish bins inside

I bought a load of stuff from a house clearance.....
similar thing.....the guy was a drunk.....
He lived in a remote spot....nobody missed hgim for a month or so....
front door open and rotten food in the fridge.....
everyone thought he gone walk about....
another month or so the son decides to go to France and clean up the place.....
eventually cutting the grass thats when they found whats left of him.....

just be careful out there....

There is simply no excuse for that claim. Smoking kills.

You could just as well gone and looked out of the window, without a fag in your mouth.

Not quite so dramatic but returning from a dog walk, late at night, and I could hear a faint tapping noise. Took me about 5 mins to realise it was coming from across the road and knocking on a neighbour’s door I could hear a faint voice.
The door was locked so went around the back to see a bedroom window slightly open. Got my ladders out of the garage and woke my wife to get another neighbour up who helps the lady at the house I was trying to get into. Ladders up at the window and I realised I’m no where near as slim and flexible as I used to be as I found myself stuck and panicking that I would need the fire brigade to rescue me. A lot of wiggling, scraping and more than a few curses and I fell through into the bedroom, bouncing off the dresser and smashing the chair next to it.
Going down the stairs I found our elderly neighbour sprawled out at the foot of the stairs, **** end up and naked with her dressing gown was around her shoulders. I managed to move her from the door and rescue her dignity before unlocking the door to let my wife and neighbours in. An ambulance had been called and whilst waiting she told us how she’d fallen down the steps in the morning and had been laying there since, couldn’t get up and no one came to her calls. It was only chance I’d heard her faint knock on the door. The ambulance turned up and took her to hospital where they found she had a broken shoulder and wrist.

The next day all my front was covered in deep purple bruises from belly to knees as well as my backside where I’d had to shuffle through the window. Our neighbour now has keys for her house.
