Smart wooden door locks?

I have a solid timber door to my inside garage. It has a clunky metal lasp and padlock.

Thinking of a night natch or even better would be a digital or WiFi type smart handle. Any ideas here please? I use my garage alot after work etc and a padlock or key all the time wouldn't be great either so im looking for a better solution

He is the best security standard, ain't no one getting in but obviously security is still a concern also. The rest of my house has all insurance kite marked locks

Really you have two different things there.

Any smart/electronic lock falls firmly into the “Access Control” category IMO. They are great options for keeping the general public where they are supposed to be and authorised personal to the areas which they are authorised.
However, they are not for “Security”.

If you want to keep the bad guys out (or more accurately, slow them down) then you need something focused on security.
You could go for a fancy high end lock – but I personally keep it simple and use a good quality approved mortice lock and built a special heavy duty door.
They aren’t that difficult to pick, but it’s rare anybody has the skills or tools, most of them are either booting in the door, snapping euros or bumping.
It’s also recessed much further than a normal lock with a custom made extended key.

Obviously the door needs to be strong enough to take a battering, otherwise any lock is pointless.
In the same way any windows or other weakpoints need to be equally well protected.

I am thinking a night latch type lock (insurance rated version) might be best for my needs. For example on a normal Saturday I can unlatch the lock all day when im going in and out of the door. And once done for the day or heading away then unsnib the lock and dont need a key to lock it. Key only required for the first entry of the day type thing.

Otherwise the garage is secured by monitored alarm, ring doorbell and other motion sensors around my house, nosey neighbours and a German shepherd with anger issues
