Smart & Brown Model L lathe -- approximate weight?

Cast iron unfortunately! I'm trying to work out how to get it into either a car or on a trailer. I don't have any crate stackers or hoists so doing my best to get sensibly creative. Any recommendations from your experience? Thanks!

The base is very heavy. Too heavy to get into the back of a car. Take some rollers and pry bars, and one/two guys can roll a complete lathe around on a smooth surface with no problem. Getting into a trailer... You'll need help!

Make sure you remove the headstock from the lathe bed as it makes things so much more manageable.

What version of headstock do you have? Any photos?

Here's one of the images I've got of it. In terms of moving it into the trailer, I was thinking of getting it up close and then working on tipping it onto some 2x4s.

If you struggle with moving, you could consider removing the motor. Mine had massive old cast iron framed motors that added significantly to the overall weight.

I'm so sorry to bother you again, but I don't suppose you might be able to give me very rough dimensions of the lathe? It's surprisingly hard to find info on that online. Thanks!
