I am currently using a MB36 torch with my 350amp Sip welder, while a bit unwieldy it works fine as almost all of my work is on 6mm+ stock. I have got to do a job on some lighter material (20mm 2mm wall box and I think a smaller torch might make life easier. The question is what to buy - Can I get away with just buying a MB15 or should I bite the bullet and get both MB15 and MB25 torches.

I think they are rated 150 amp at 60%
So the small torch should be fine
I use a 150 on a R-Tech 250 all the time up to 150 or so amps

I use a 15 torch on my mig and ive had a metered 130 amps out of it with no duty cycle issues
Well, my nice shiny new MB15 torch arrived today from those nice chaps at Weldequip. I changed the rollers put a new 5kg roll of .8 wire in and fired it up. Wow, what a mess it spit and farted all over the place. Has any used Weldability A18 mig wire before, the reel I have is awful. I changed it out for a part used Clarke .6 reel (after removing the rusted layers) and it ran fine. I am off to the Welders warehouse in Telford on Monday to get some decent stuff. Just goes to show what a difference the wire makes. In the meantime I back to my MB36 with 1.2 mm wire on 20mm box

Agreed - we have tried many different types of wires over the years, and we get quite a bit of free-issue wire of varying brands for some jobs, Lincoln stuff is good, we buy pallets of it!
The amount of tangles and feed problems causes us so much lost time its not worth trying to save a few quid on slightly cheaper brands.
