Small Workshop!

Still new here and as my introduction post says I bought a 71 bettle to restore!
I'm doing the work outside but I have a small garden shed! 6ft x 4ft I was thinking about setting it up as a small workshop for practicing my welding while the weather is still bad! working on wings ect and after reading on here quite fancy some small welding projects like a welding trolley etc?
Do you think it's worth a shot? I'm sick of sitting in the house an would love a man cave even if its small!!

I'd be wary of welding inside a small wooden garden shed.

Could I line the floor with something? Thought about making a steel bench and lining the walls around it with tin?
After reading jots on here quite fancy tackling a few project.

i dont see why its not possible just need to be really careful about how you use your space. decent metal topped bench does not have to be massive store the welding gear underneath and off you go. i would consider some sort of fire resistance around where your welding but as long as your careful (and maybe keep a fire extinguisher handy) should be fine

I got a lot of stick for welding in a wooden shed as a fire hazard.
But as long as you are sensible it should not be a problem.
Things like nothing flammable on the floor, rags kept in boxes with lids, keep a fire extinguisher around, when I was working at home I kept a bucket of water in a corner.

re fires in wooden buildings they some amazing fires in brick and concrete buildings, it is the contents not the structure that is the problem in my book.

I'd be inclined to have a fire extinguisher that's compatible with electricity rather than a bucket of water!

Also position yourself between the door and your bench.

why not get one of those disposable gazebo's, much much safer , looks like a teabag after youve finished, but keeps you dry
