small quantity of good filler?

I have some smallish imperfections in some machinery and tractor panels I've used P38 in my mini/midget/mark 2 escort days and would like to try UPOL fantastic but a 3 litre tub is probably overkill. They do a 1 litre bag however not sure how long it will last once opened, same goes for a 3 litre tin, if it lasted a couple of years it may come in handy.

Anything as good as UPOL fantastic but sold in smaller quantities or will a 3 litre tin last a couple of years or so? I'm using Abranet dry sand pads.

I used around 300ml of P38 and an egg size blob of fine sand filler

As for how long it lasts, I thought I had a tin, in a cupboard had it well over 30yrs. It hasn't fallen off yet

I've just finished a tin of Upol Easy 1 that my brother in law bought 7 or 8 years ago when I repaired his Fiesta van. If you don't contaminate it with hardener it will keep but it separates so you have to mix it back in sometimes

It does indeed last for years and years. You do find that it needs a stir, and even then there's a tendency for it to become a bit stiff towards the bottom of the tin but I remedy that by stirring in some polyester (glass fibre) resin.

In fact when I'm skimming over plate work on vintage machinery etc I normally transfer some filler to a smaller container and stir in some more resin to make it more fluid - I find I can spread it out better on the job, especially over corrosion pitting.

If its minor imperfections use Dolphin glaze, it comes in small pouches, Yes filler does dry out but its still usable, just a little harder to get on real smooth.
