Small quantities of 2k primer and paint

I'm refurbishing a set of calipers. They'll be blasted and them I'd like to give them a good hard wearing paint finish. Reading around that would seem to be a 2k epoxy primer and 2k direct gloss topcoat.

I'd like to use Jotun Epoxymastic 87 for the primer but can only find it in 5 litre cans. Does anyone sell it by the half litre by any chance? And the same for a good quality topcoat? I'd rather not go to the expense of 5ltrs of each that will most likely never be used up.

go down to a local bodyshop paint supplier they will sell the paint in smaller amounts may not be the exact make though

Get them powder coated?

It may come to that Snooper but I'd ideally like the Jotun primer as it seems well suited to the harsh environment the caliper will live in, being a marine primer.

The fronts were powder coated before Mike. I peeled it all of by hand even though they had been done very recently. I'm not a fan of powder coating to be honest, in my experience once it's chipped and moisture gets under it it flakes off relatively quickly.

Ask whoever coated the others to epoxy prime them as well as top coat, the zinc rich epoxy is pretty tough stuff.

I think the powder coating is being blamed were i think the coaters work is at fault. Powder coating is far tougher than 2k hence why manufacturers use pc over paint from factory. Look at brembo, if paint was better would they really powder coat the calipers. How long ago did you have the front calipers done as if the coating failed you should take them to the person and if they care worth a damn they would rectify the problem.

You may be right on it being a poor job by the coasters Mike. With the coating peeled off the calipers have quite a bit of surface rust, as if they've been blasted and left to sit before being coated. Unfortunately I didn't get them done, I bought them already reconditioned but they hadn't been used for long.

I stopped at the local motor factors on the way home and it turns out they've got quite a good paint stock. I've now got a litre each of Selemix epoxy primer and Mipa gloss topcoat and their respective hardeners. Fingers crossed it will do the job.
