Small pressed plaques

Hi all

Some of the current work we are doing the customers have said we should fit a small plaque on the job as a bit of advertising.

This has got us thinking and we are trying to find somewhere who could make us some small pressed plates that can be riveted onto the jobs.
It would just have company name and number.

And info or opinions grateful

Someone on the forum who makes gas bottle fires has them on his products, oval and look well, you will have to search though because I can't remember who

I had a little plaque made of platic with letters milled out for not much money. Try a simple highstreet local engravers.
They were able to engrave plastic, wood and metal.

Probably 50-100 at a time to start with.

And you're fitting them to steelworks, exterior products?

Just wondering out loud if you want someone to make you a die so you can stamp your own badges. Pretty sure the CNC market will be saturated with hobbyists keen for a bit of business.

That's too large a quantity for milling/engraving but if you get one of them to make you a stamp...

Member @outofthefire had something made with his name on, think it was a stamp but perhaps whoever made it can do something similar to allow you to sort something suitable.

I had a good price from a company called GSM Graphic Arts. They sent me a free brochure through with a load of samples inside from different materials.

Place I worked used to laser engrave their own into some sort of laminated plastic - top layer yellow, inner is black, so letters stood out.
10-15 ish pieces per run.
Lasted 10years+ outside
Machine came from the bay, about 5-6 grand.



<Edit> I wonder if a number plate place could do them?

Dale, if you want them made from plastic and laser engraved or cnc router engraved, I can point you towards someone local who can do it for you,
For metal ones I would get them laser cut as well, lettering could be cut in or laser etched, they would look nice in stainless and tacked or riveted on.

Much easier if they can be saw cut (as in precision saw, not hacksaw) and then engraved, but shapes can be milled.

Depending on what the product(s) is/are, you could impress a "touch mark" into aluminium, copper, brass and even glue it in place with a modern wonder adhesive to save time or use those little hammer in drive screws.

Electro-etching, (I believe that's the term), could be another possibilty for producing your own plates, rather than stamping.

they have a facebook page with lots of examples of their work

they can produce nameplates in Brass or Stainless or Anodised Aluminium

Had it made by the chaps here http://www.spanglefish.com/metalstamps/index.asp I would highly recommend having a chat with them if you want your own stamp making, they were about the only British firm I could find making stamps.
