small hand wacker??

I'm going to be doing some paving. I've looked at the normal wacker plates but even second hand they are pricey. Considering one of these. Weld a couple of lugs on with a handle to save my back.
Not sure how effective it would be with a lot less weight than a full wacker.

Thoughts?

Yeah, that's what I expected.

My problem is time.

It will have to be done in fits and starts so hiring one is not really feasible as it would have to be hired on several occasions.

I bought a cheapy Belle one as I did my patio in fits and starts. It was nowhere near as good as a 'proper' one, but I kept it tidy and sold it for more than I paid for when I eventually finished the job.

'top of the range compaction plate' then goes on to say 'low vibration'. Sounds about right.

If you were closer you could borrow my Whacker plate, it's a beast, it's like having a Rottweiler on a lead with a cat winding it up!
I can normally use it for about 5 minutes before my fillings start jolting loose.

ive bought off this seller with no probs at all personly but it is all 100% *MOD EDIT* gear. As for that hand wacker i think those are for April the 1st then bring it out

I brought my cut 40 plasma cutter from them, a few bits missing but seller sorted quickly for me. All the stuff is just cheap imported stuff though

I bought one of these from Screwfix when I was in the same situation.
It worked well but you have to take it slowly when compared to a heavy duty petrol model:

i have a diesel whacker plate 4 people can hardly lift it .it had forward and reverse lever on it . ilent my mate a builder it to compact some dolomite down in a n extension to a house .the dolly was 3 foot deep he pulled it on to dolly and started it up then it sank in real fast it took 4 blokes with ropes and scaffy pole to lift it out
