Small generic compressor (now missing the oil)

Well, I guess I should have tied it down a bit better, or had a look in the back of the car after that sharp braking to avoid the van that pulled out in front of me.

Hey ho.

So, since there are no labels on it saying which oil to use, and there aren't any pointers in the Search function, can I safely add some non-detergent 30wt oil to it? Is there anything better to try? Only using it for tyres etc.

SAE30 non detergent should be fine.

Do some compressors not need oil? As you, I only use mine for inflating tyres too. I have the cracking little T Max compressor. It never ocurred to me to check to see if this model needs oil

There are oil free compressors. You ought check which type yours is though.

Yes I have that one. If this is the T Max. Not seen it referred to as the WINCHMAX
Maybe it is an alternative name that is used ?

WINCHMAX is a retailer, lots of places sell them, just the site I lifted the picture from.

I was looking for parts for the dashboard of my Van in a scrapyard.
Spotted a likely source,
when I looked inside the whole of the cab was covered in plaster apart from the driver shaped bit on the driver's seat.
They had had a large tub of wet plaster in the back when they had to emergency stop ...

Years ago, I was carrying a bundle of 15mm copper, in a mondeo, mums car, was only 18 mo this old

Not that quick, it was the sideways motion on a roundabout and I helped distribute it with a car jet wash trying to clean it up
The upside is after cleaning the interior is now better than it was before!

Just to add another thought some large compressors ( Not The Tyre Inflator type) are oil free but still have oil but the oil is contained in the working bits of the compressor as used in the Food industry etc where you have to have clean oil free air

On a H&S course few years ago, trainer went into story telling mode: couple lads set up a roofing business, but all they had for transport was a reliant van; could fit the bottle of gas or the pitch boiler inside, but not both; so they melted the pitch and transported it in the boiler to their job. Hard braking enroute turned them into instant fossils apparently…
