Small four door hatchback; which one?

Kath is looking for a new motor.
Her Chevy Spark is getting old 120k miles. Rust here and there and making 'noises'.
She's got a budget around max. £7k.
Looking for a small four door hatchback. Looking for petrol engine, 1 to 1.3l engine and OK on motorways.
Any recommendations?

My mrs has a 65 plate suzuki swift, 1.2 petrol.

Comfy to drive, good on fuel, I used it on motorway from south wales to Harry Potter world and was fine.

I've got a swift, wife has a sx4. I think they are both built on the same platform with the sx4 being slightly bigger. Both have been fantastically reliable.Sx4 often goes from devon to essex.

my mother had one of the older breed of ignis...she then went to nissan micra that was on finance...finance paid up this month and has now asked me to find her a swift after xmas...they are good cars to be fair

Yaris, my family owned one for 14 years and it was 3 years old when we bought it.

Skoda Fabia. My Mrs has a 2019 1.0tsi engine one and it's actually a really nice car. Decent sized without being too big and on a motorway surprisingly capable for a little engine. Comfy, quiet, economical(~50mpg) enough toys to make driving nice without too many to go wrong etc.

I was originally going to say get an Aygo but it's a bit small so the Yaris someone else mentioned is a good bet.
Never had a Suzuki but I've only heard good things about them. If only Yamaha made a car...

only about 3.8%, though they did develop some engines for Toyota and Lexus.

Another vote for a Toyota Yaris, a friend has one, been faultless. I do quite like Suzuki too.

Daughter has a 2019 Suzuki Swift 1.0 "hybrid". Only problem is it is a little underpowered with four adults on board otherwise she is delighted with it.

They are quite well tied together, I think Yamaha did a lot of cylinder head development for Toyota race engines.

The reason I first bought a suzuki was that I'd heard their motorbikes were ok. Couldn't afford a mazda and the sizes they made were not quite the size I wanted.

Almost universal agreement on an automotive subject.
Kath is off looking at Suzukis today.
She was impressed by the speed and quality of replies.
Q; petrol suzukis, are they belt or chain drives to the camshafts?
if belt is best to automatically haggle for a new belt as part of the deal?
I have horrors about cambelts after I was nagged by mates into changing mine of my Renault. it came back split all down the middle
