Thought I'd have a bash at making a dog guard for our recently aquired mk2 zafira, to stop our mad Labrador escaping into the passenger cabin! The mrs was just going to buy one but for what they are, they are ludicrously expensive. I think she just thought i was going to produce a bag of scrap for the back of her new car.
Simple jig on old working table:
Centre bars in and tacked, nuts welded onto upright end to screw feet into:
Painted up with feet and home made adjusters on:
In the car:
Was worried that the hound might try and get over the top as there is a gap between the top of the guard and the roof lining but he doesnt seem interested in it, maybe a future mod will be required.
Was quite pleased with the result and i think it even surprised the mrs that it looked respectable! Next maybe will to make him a transport cage for when one of the rear fold up seats is used.
Total cost: £6 odd for the levelling feet plus a tenner for the steel
