For small work like car bodywork, exhausts, welding a nut on a broken stud (none of which I’ll be doing too often, hopefully).
So, occasional use, no need for high output because anything thick will get the stick, which I’ve been used to for 30-odd years. Current machine is a Stealth Digi-Arc 200 which is excellent.
Gas type - I tried a gasless and didn’t like it. Could do better with overlapping tacks with the stick on DCEN with a heat sink.
Budget - £300? I can’t justify too much for the infrequent use it’ll get.
EDIT: I did think of trying the lift TIG function on my inverter stick unit instead of buying a MIG, but not sure. Comments welcome on that, too.
