Had to do a quicky fix on the exhaust back box today because it fell off.
Thought, 10 mins max, bang a couple of inches of new on the back pipe, make a slot and slam it back on. Got the MIG going and could I hell as like get a good run going.
Flicked through the settings, gas on max (c02 disposable), wire speed, torch nearer and further away and all I was getting was a great sodding slug sized weld. It seemed fine when ground down though and the exhaust is back on ok now.
Any idea whats up with my technique or suggestions for settings anyone? I have just put some halfords .8 on there as a try.
The earth could have been better I suppose, I clamped to the vice bench bolts with the exhaust in the vice jaws.
