Morning all...
Been looking at slip rolling machines..bench mounted ones and free standing ones..didn't realise the price especially ones that roll 3mm plate..anyway..don't mean to sound thick hear as I have never used one..I usually do it the hard way and try clamp and bend it round things of a similar radius to what I am do at the time..question is..how do you set the machine to roll different radius.

Just set the adjustable roller, Two rollers are in a fixed position.the more you screw down the adjustable one the smaller the radius will become on the material you are working at the time.

OK cool..I understand now..is there a guide as to how much you screw down to what diameter/radius you want..or is it a work it out as you go along...

It's an art done mainly by eye.

For instance;

From flat if you screw down two turns you gets different rad than if you made two passes of one turn each,
even though the rolls end in the same place.


When buying s/h you can find long rolls that are rated for thin sheet but for most people they would be more
useful if they were shorter but rolled thicker. One of my pyramid sets were 5ft x 16g. They are now 1000mm x 3mm.

OK that's good..got a basic idear now...the machines that roll 1mm ain't to bad pice. .but when you get in the 3mm category. .serious price.....
