Sliding Door Track

I have to rehang a 15ftx15ft about 220kg of a sliding door on a shed

The door was previously hanging using factory door track or henderson door track, however it rotted after 10years even though it was covered with a door flashing. It was 50mm henderson door track 2.5mm thickness, pity that tracking cant be got in a thicker profile, it would last a lot longer.

Tracking was welded to a steel angle iron.

However we are near the sea and its windy, salty air takes its toll on everything.

Anyone ever used a different type of track arrangment for such a door and its easy to push when its all done is v important.

Would a 20mm round bar track and wheels such as these do the job

They have bearings so Im thinking they should, and I see them carrying huge sliding gates.

Any thoughts ?

I actually saw those during a forum search, thank you for the post as its a good starting point.

The principle is the same however my door is 200+kg in weight.

makes no difference if you use wheel jack bolts under your door

they run on a bar on the floor and a bolt jacks up your door

thats double the amount of weight taken up by 4 wheels 2 under and 2 above

just use UNI-STRUT......easily take the weight, they make a wheel/skate kit to do the job if ur's dont fit...
Pretty sure it is double galv.....they have holes (12mm) along the strip for bolting the mounting brackets...
no welding ness....
used it many times....
places like electrical factors sell....sparky's use it along with tray for cable ducting....
this stuff holds up the lighting in Tesco's etc....brilliant stuff...

Wheels/trolleys are on p.102. You would need 2 off P2950 to take 220kg. Best corrosion resistance they do is hot dip galvanised, but they also do stainless channel as well. If welding to something, you will need to Galvafroid the welds very well.
