Skin top / cable gland fittings?

I have some of these in the workshop but I dont think its essential travelling for me to go and have a look for one!!

I have a 5.5mm o/d cable with a 16mm dia plug on the end.

I want to put it through a skin top and loose the regular nut on the fitting and thread it directly into something.

What's the smallest size fitting I can poke a 16mm connector through?
Will it then wind down far enough to grip a 5.5mm cable?

Anybody got one handy?

Put 'cable gland chart' into Google and look at images. There isn't anything that will do what you want. PG21 or M24/M25 will allow the 16mm through but will not squeeze down to 5.5mm. You could make the 5.5mm bigger with multiple layers of heatshrink (buy the 3:1 ratio). Alternatively, have a look at the consumer unit glands (e.g. https://www.swaonline.co.uk/files/ww/SWA CU Gland Selection Chart.pdf) and glue some rubber bungs in the unused holes.

Why are you running it through a gland? If it's just to grip the cable then a short length of slit hose will serve as a packer. If it has to be ingress proof then the same but with glue and or sealant.
