I just had to buy a new helmet.
I spotted a scratch in the top of my Shark RS900 helmet.
Not a scratch a bloody split. Not from impace damage it looks it is has just faded and give up the ghost at about 5 years old.
Not impressed, Gentlemen inspect your helmets.
I paid about £250 I think it it was for an Aria somethig or other. Comfy quiet and the vents work.
Getting rid of old helmets? give thme to the St John ambulance or equivalent they use them for practicing removing helmets after accidents.

you should get a better helmet the more you pay but there is so many factors that determine the price...

I always cut the straps off first, stops them being used again.

my father bought a craft about 10 years ago. while he was wheeling the bike around the back about 2 years ago someone nicked it, so he bought another craft around £140 I think, cant be sure though. 4 days after it arrived he put his bike through a chevron roundabout sign at 130mph. did a bit of damage to his wrist but luckily nothing more. doctors all agreed helmet saved his life. I had a caberg at the time and never really liked it, so bought a craft too. sold it when I sold the first bandit, then bought another 3 bikes so ended up with a craft and got a very very good deal on a schuberth so have one of those too.

as daft as it sounds he didn't realise the roundabout was there, and neither did I when we went back to look at it after I picked him up from the hospital. apparently it is a common occurrence for bikers to hit it. its hard to describe but its sort of a sooping bend on a dual carriage way then all foa sudden it gets quite tight and a roundabout appears

lucky man...!(if you know what i mean)a lot must depend on what you hit,and what angle etc etc..i certainly won,t be doing that speed..(not on a cb500 anyway!)

he was on a bandit 1200 at the time. he still has it. we rebuilt it while he was recovering. quite a bit of damage but still worked out cheaper to repair it properly with new parts than to buy a new bike. been through its second mot now and passed with flying colours.

I hit a broken down car on a cbr400 at an estimated 80mph and was lucky to survive, more so to do with the location than the injusries. I was on a bridge and if I had flown left rather than right I would have cleared the side of the bridge and fallen about 120ft into a thick muddy boggy river and had a 0% chance of survival

I recently changed my Helmet, my old one was a few years old.
I have to wear a Flip Helmet because I have to drive with Glasses.
I tried every brand upto the most expensive, Shubeth, Shoei etc right down to cheaper ones.
Was not happy with any really.
Went to another shop and they sold Caberg Helmets.
I ended up buying a Caberg Duke for £115 it is one of the best Helmets I have bought!
It is also 5 Star Rated in the Sharp Ratings

I've tried to talk myself into buying a flip-up lid a few times but whenever I try them they always seem very creaky and plasticky, regardless of brand or price.

decision made..(cheapskate option!)having looked at ,tried on,and read all the reviews and ratings,i took delivery today of an ls2 ff384.96(snappy title) it comes in its own bag inside a box, it has acu gold sticker,drop down sun visor,air vents,pinlock ready,etc etc..seems well enough made..time will tell,certainly looks good value at £45 inc del(quick!) took it out this evening for a 50mile run, v comfy,quiet,sun visor is great,no complaints...so far anyway..
